Serving Carleton Place since 1980!
The Blossom Shop first opened its doors in 1980 and has been serving the Carleton Place and surrounding regions ever since. It was established by Yvonne Kilpatrick, who emigrated from England to Canada in 1967. Kilpatrick was a professional teacher, but her husband worked in the wholesale florist business. He suggested they go into the floral business for themselves, and thus the Blossom Shop was born!
Over the last 40 years, The Blossom Shop has called three downtown locations home: 136 Bridge, next to the Queen’s Hotel (one year); 127 Bridge St., the site of Valley Granite and Tile (13 years); and the current spot (27 years).
Let The Blossom Shop be your first choice for flowers.
In the summer of 1981, Kilpatrick went to Guelph University to pursue a florist course, and after graduating, the top of her class was invited to attend for a second year for free. The following year, she returned to take her floral course and again graduated top of her class, but chose to focus on the Blossom Shop since business was picking up.
The blossom shop prides itself on offering customers an exceptional service and high-quality flowers.
